Annapurna Region Trekking
Introduction:
Annapurna region and Pokhara valley are located in central Nepal. This is the most popular trekking destination in Nepal Himalaya. This area has many major trekking routes such as Kaligandaki Valley, Jomsom Muktinath, Annapurna Base Camp, Tilicho lake, Nar phu and the Circuit of entire Annapurna massif.
Pokhara is also a good starting place for a number of shorter treks of this area. The ancient kingdom of Lo (Mustang) and Dhaulagiri are also geographically a part of Annapurna region. About two-third of the trekkers who visit Nepal every year make the trek in Annapurna region. It has high crossing passes, hot springs, World's deepest valley, Tibet-like country, view of 360 degree panorama of Himalaya, the hidden valley, beautiful lake like Tilicho and Damodar Kunda, picturesque villages and friendly local people.
The Ghorepani Trekking is known as Ghorepani Poon Hill trek which is very popular trekking in Nepal. Poon hill is best viewpoint of Ghorepani treks from where you will see the best sunrise in the morning so every trekker go to the Poon hill (3200m) early in the morning from Ghorepani.

The trek has been named the "Royal Trek" as Britain's Prince Charles Walked it in the 1980s. It's an excellent trek to do, as it doesn't entail any particular long walking days but plenty to see.

The route to the Annapurna sanctuary (Annapurna Deuthali in Nepali), the site of the Annapurna South Face Base Camp, is a spectacular short trek. Though it has some steep climbs, the trek is not difficult, and traverses a variety of terrain, from lowland villages and rice terraces to glaciers, with outstanding high mountain views.

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisher, the starting point of trek, it takes about 6 to 7 by Bus or other private transportations. This trek is generally called Marsyangdi trail. It goes upstream along the Marsyangdi river. You will trek through canyons and gorges and move on the the north side of Annapurna Himalayas.

Tilicho Lake is the highest lake in the world at 5200m. The lake lies on the north side of the Annapurna Himal, just below Tilicho Peak(7134m). Reaching it is not easy as the route rises to the Mesukantu-La pass at 5,300m. But it is an exciting and beautiful route.

Drive from Pokhara to Hyangja about 20 minuts. The treks to Siklish north from Pokhara route is spectacular view of Annapurna Rough and wild, this trek cuts through less traveled country south of Annapurna II & Lamjung Himal massif. Good mountain views and rough terrain, the local people are unaccustomed to trekkers.
