Ladakh - The Land of High Passes
Ladhak, or "Little Tibet" lies as a separated area in the Himalayas
of northern India at the Tibetan Plateau, at the frontier of Karakoram.
It hardly rains in this region, that is why a spectacular moon landscape
is created where surrealistic colours like earth-red, gold and deep dark
purple twinkle at the rocks. Ladhakh has a rich cultural and religious
heritage that you can see in the very old monasteries
that still function. For sure this is one of the few places left where
one can witness the Tibetan Buddhism in the original state!
You walk an average of 4 hours per day, your luggage is carried by packed
animals, you’re accompanied by local guide and stay the nights in 2-persons
tents.
We travel to Leh overland or fly in or vice versa. One domestic flight is
obligatory. Passes are open first week of July.
