This Trek goes from Lukla to the valley of the awesome Ngozumba glacier, allowing enjoyment of the huge panorama of Gokyo Peak. It is not as snowy as the Everest base camp trek, but it allows one to appreciate the silent grandeur basic to the Himalayas. In addition, the course includes beautiful glacial lakes surrounded by towering peaks. With the huge glacier of Ngozumpa giving a powerful setting, Everest (8848m) and other peaks such as Cho Oyu (8153m), Lhotse (8511m) and Makalu (8463m) become transformed from here. The view from here is just fabulous, probably better than from the base camp.
Day to Day Itinerary
(Gokyo Kalapattar Trekking)
Day 1 : Early in the morning we will fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding (3/4 hrs, 2600m) o/n in lodge,
Day 2 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (6/7 hrs, 3445m) o/n in lodge,
Day 3 : Rest day in Namche Bazaar, o/n in lodge,
Day 4 : Trek to Tengboche (5/6 hrs, 3885m) o/n in lodge,
Day 5 : Trek to Dingboche (4/5 hrs, 4350m) o/n in lodge,
Day 6 : Hiking around Chhukung and return back to Dingboche o/n in lodge,
Day 7 : Trek to Lobuche (4/5 hrs, 4980m) o/n in lodge,
Day 8 : Trek to Gorak Shep and after lunch we will go to base camp & get back to the Gorak Shep (7/8 hrs, 5150m) o/n in lodge,
Day 9 : Early in the morning we will go to Kala patthar (5555m) and return back to Lobuche (6/7hrs, 4980m) o/n in lodge,
Day 10 : Trek to Dzonglha (4/5 hrs, 4800m) o/n in lodge.
Day 11 : Trek to Thanak via Chola Pass (5353m) (6/7 hrs, 4700m) o/n in lodge,
Day 12 : Trek to Gokyo (3/4hrs, 4790m) o/n in lodge,
Day 13 : Early in the morning we will go to Gokyo-Ri and return back to Gokyo o/n in lodge,
Day 14 : Early in the morning visit Panch Pokhari and get back to Gokyo again (this place has very nice lakes and views of mountain),
Day 15 : Trek to Renjala Phedi (5/6 hrs, 4900m) o/n in lodge,
Day 16 : Trek to Thamo via Renjola pass (5212m) (6/7hrs, 3600m) o/n in lodge,
Day 17 : Trek to Thame (4/5hrs, 3800m) o/n in lodge,
Day 18 : Trek to Khunjung (4/5hrs, 3850m) o/n in lodge,
Day 19 : Start our day by visit Monastery in the morning and later to hillary school, hospital and Trek to Namche Bazaar (3445, 2 hrs) o/n in Lodge,
Day 20 :Trek to Phakding (4/5hrs, 2600m) o/n in lodge,
Day 21 :Trek to Lukla (3/4hrs, 2800m) o/n in lodge,
Day 22 : After breakfast we will fly back to Kathmandu and transfer you to your hotel.
