
Introduction:
Tamang Heritage trekking is a newly opened trekking route in the Himalaya in Langtang region. During the Tamang Heritage trek you will explore traditional Tamang villages, unspoiled nature and local monasteries, green grazing land and mountain views with the insight into the unique Tamang culture. Trekking through the Tamang village gives you a wondersful opportunity to closely study the community’s lifestyle, culture and crafts. This trek presents the amazing views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosiakunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairavkunda and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek.

Day by day itinerary
Day 01: Arrival and transfer to hotel, welcome dinner, o/n in a hotel +D
On your arrival at the airport, Himalayan Leaders will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. In the evening you are gladly invited to our typical Nepalese welcome dinner! Overnight in your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing around in Kathmandu valley, o/n in a hotel +B
After an enjoyable breakfast we start this trip with a full day impressive sightseeing of the main attractions, which of course are the sightseeing tour of Soyambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddhanath. After all these impressions you can relax and enjoy on your own having a nice dinner for instance in one of the many good restaurants Kathmandu has to offer.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1466m, 8hrs) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) o/n in lodge +B+L+D
You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabrubesi passing through Dhunche, While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road after Betrawati is still under construction.

Day 04:: Trek to Gatlang (5/6hrs) o/n community lodge +B+L+D
After an hour and half of ascent from Syabrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda range and the Goljang valley. Now we head down to Goljang valley for the Lunch which is an hour walking down hill from the the view point. Gatlang the beautiful Tamang village is another 3 hrs walk from Goljang. Upon arrival the guests will be welcomed by Khada (white scarf) and the home made local drinks Rakshi accompanied by the welcome song in local language. Get refreshed and enjoy the local Syabru dance.
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani (7/8hrs) o/n in community lodge +B+L+D
this would be the longest day of the entire trip and will take about 7 hours. The walk begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River. Stop for the lunch here. Chilime Hydropower dam is situated here. After lunch the trail will be ascending up crossing the hanging bridge. Ascend continues until you get to Tatopani which literally means 'hot water', you can clean yourself in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains.

Day 06: Trek to Thuman ( 5/6hrs) o/n in community lodge +B+L+D
the trail ascends to Nagthali Danda (3300m) the high open grassland with amazing views of snow covered Himalayas. Stop for lunch at Brimdang village. After lunch the trek continues ascending to Nagthali Danda. One can enjoy the view and spend some time at the top accompanied by tea prepared by the care taker of the Gompa. Trek continues down to Thuman, Tibetan influenced Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance.
Day 07: Trek to Timure (1762m, 5/6hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D
while trekking from Thuman to Timure you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi. This day's trekking grants you an opportunity to observe Tibeto Burman Tamang culture in two of the villages on the way. Timure is on the old trade route to Tibet. A fort here is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that have existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge here links Nepal and Tibet.

Day 08:Trek from Timure to Briddim (2229m, 6/7hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D
you can experience the village life of Briddim and enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. You can also experience a home stay and Tamang culture. To mention a little about Briddim, it is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in a Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. As direct descendants of ancient Tibetan immigrants, the culture and tradition of Briddim closely resembles that of Tibetan villages.
Day 09: Trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi (1467m, 3/4hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D
you trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi via Wangel. This day the trail moves along a gently descending path passing through villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounding hills.

Day 10: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu (7/8hrs) o/n in a hotel +B+L
it is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu with splendid views of hills, mountains, terraces and villages. You drive along the unpaved road until Betrawati where you will begin to follow a narrow, but well paved road.
Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping, o/n in a hotel +B
Day 12:Transfer to international airport (B)
